Minooka Community High School (MCHS) has been recognized in the 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The school was listed on three separate rankings: it placed 7,114 out of 17,901 nationally, ranking in the 39th percentile; 239 out of 715 among Illinois high schools, which is the 33rd percentile statewide; and 180 out of 363 in the Chicago metro area, at the 49th percentile locally.

Our strong academic curriculum, proficiency, and college-readiness of our students is certainly validated from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report,” said MCHS Superintendent Dr. Robert Schiffbauer.

U.S. News & World Report has published education sector rankings since 1983. Its Best High Schools list aims to provide an unbiased view of how public schools serve their students across achievement levels and prepare them for college-level work. Data for these rankings is collected from third-party sources rather than directly from schools.
