Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 21.8% of Minooka Intermediate School’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 214 Hispanic students enrolled in Minooka Intermediate School in the 2022-23 school year, 5.4% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 980 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 21.8% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

Among the seven schools in Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201, Minooka Junior High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,048 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
