Minooka Elementary School Education: 10 Black students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 10 Black students enrolled in Minooka Elementary School in the 2022-23 school year, 44.4% less than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 502 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 2% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 with a central office in Minooka.

Among the seven schools in Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201, Minooka Intermediate School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 980 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
