144 Black students enrolled in Minooka Community High School in 2022-23 school year

There were 144 Black students enrolled in Minooka Community High School in the 2022-23 school year, 17.1% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 2,850 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 5.1% of the student body to be the third most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Minooka Community High School District 111 with a central office in Minooka.

Minooka Community High School was the only school in the district which enrolled Black students, welcoming 144 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
